Blondes conjure up all kinds of images in our minds. Whether we hate them or love them, the world has a fascination for them. Since sexy blonde stars like Marilyn Munroe , Jean Harlow and Jane Mansfield walked their walk upon this earth, the trail of blonds has always continued. Stemming from these beautiful sex sirens, came the familiar 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes ' phrase. There has been many a bottle of peroxide opened since, in this quest for super 'Blondeness.'
I myself am a blonde, I always have been, and would not have it any other way. I guess that's why I'm dubbed 'The White Russian '. I cannot deny that my hair colour has gained much attention in my life span, and has been the topic of whispers behind closed doors. "Is it real?", they whisper. Bleached or natural seems to be a common point of discussion amongst women from all around the world. If it is real then it is envied , if it is bleached it evokes a reaction, "I told you so," and is therefore 'regarded more favourably' .
As an experiment a few years back I donned a red haired wig and strolled down the streets that I wander as a blonde. I noticed fewer people looked, the attention was noticeably less, it was remarkable. Please don't get me wrong, there are millions of beautiful women, redheads and brunettes who would gain the attention of many in their journeys, but for me, there was a big difference.

BLONDES THE SUBJECT OF HUMOUR
Our hair colour has given birth to blond jokes all across the world. How many times have you heard red-hair jokes or brunette gags?
'Did all this start with the dizziness of Munroe?'
Three blondes were walking through the forest when they came upon a set of tracks. The first blonde said, "Those are deer tracks."
The second blonde said, "No, those are elk tracks."
The third blonde said, "You're both wrong, those are moose tracks."
The blondes were still arguing when the train hit them.
On the first day of training for parachute jumping, a blonde listened intently to the instructor. He told them to start preparing for landing when they are at 300 feet. The blond asked, "How am I supposed to know when I'm at 300 feet?"
"That's a good question. When you get to 300 feet, you can recognize the faces of people on the ground."
After pondering his answer, she asked, "What happens if there's no one there I know?"
A blonde suspects that her boyfriend is cheating on her, so she goes out and buys a gun.
She goes to his apartment that same day, with the gun in hand. Sure enough, when she opens the door, she finds her boyfriend in the arms of a redhead. She points the gun at her boyfriend at stares him down for a moment. Then, suddenly, she's overcome with grief, so she puts the gun up to the side her head.

In my studies through Hairdressing this is what we learnt. I assume they were talking about natural blondes in these scientific studies.Bleached hair if not cared for properly, can become extremely brittle thus causing hair breakage, resulting in reduction of density.
'Between 50 and 60% of woman who visit Hairdressers undergo blonding treatments, which also includes Streaks.
There is a very high percentage of women who through their life span have either considered going blonde or have taken the plunge into blonding their natural tresses.
'There are many shades of blonde ranging from Strawberry Blonde (darker end of the scale), all the way through to Platinum Blonde ( the lightest of all blondes).
So many women who have dyed their hair at home, have been horrified with the results of yellow hair. This mainly happens with inexperience with colours and the lack of knowledge of applying toners.
And furthermore did you know that 65% of all Miss Americas have been blonde.

Actually, AEvans, Marilyn was a natural redhead, kind of a warm coppery auburn. I agree, though, a lot of those women were not natural blondes, but maybe that goes to prove the theory of the hub! If all these women wanted to be blonde, maybe it's true???
For me it isn't the color of the hair, it is the eyes. Most blondes have lighter colored eys. My problem is taking my eyes of from boobs long enough to notice the girl has eyes at all. I am actually albino, but I am so damn good looking I color my hair gray to make myself appear a bit uglier, hasn't worked, I am still gorgeous.

Christoph haha 'peroxide saturation to the brain'. Gee you are a funny bugger as we say here in Australia.You know on a serious note it makes me wonder what peroxide might really do to the brain, I mean the skin absorbs everything we put on it.I did a study once on cancerous ingredients that were found in mouth washes,shampoos etc,which really took the wind out of me.Chemicals that factories use to strip their workshop floors of oil,are still a very common ingredient in shampoos.I always read the bottles now.It really has to make you wonder.

Buffalo, New York, on the lake. A woman come up with them for her family owned restaraunt some time ago. They're the wings from chicken, cut up and one part looks like a wee drum, the tip is used for soup and such and you use a hot sauce on them. Very tasty. My wee one foregoes the hot sauce and just eats them cooked the way I do them before I hit them with the heat. She can't do hot and spicy. what a pussy she is. LOL
I made a party cake with sprinkles and everything, another Wee One favorite. I find that i can do almost anything, can't isn't in my vocabulary, except for flying and apparently sex. :-( oh well, can't hardly do evrything.

Twilight Zone monent: It's very weird that you said that about a castle in Scotland, because my mother has always sworn I am reincarnated and lived my previous life in a Scottish castle. And she's serious! I'm American but am told by friends that I have an "accent" which sounds like a blend of California surfer, Canadian and Scottish (never been to Scotland but have it in my blood). I honestly don't hear it ... but apparently it's there, and carries through in my writing. I can't explain.

You can wear blonde very well. I have been Blonde, Brunette, Red hed everything you can imagine. My natural color is Brown. Being blonde is fun and you get away with alot more. It is true. When I am a brunette though I am taken more seriously...that is what I have observed.

I sometimes use my blondeness to escape tricky situations.I went to the drive-in once, parked in this fellow's car to see a movie.He said to me, "Oh Blonde do you want to hop in the back seat". " I myself am a blonde, I always have been, and would not have it any other way." ...That is just my thought as I started reading the article. I became a blonde when I was 20 years old and once went back for only 6 months. Could not stand it so from that point on, "I became a blonde and I too would not have it any other way."
From the stand point of being a blonde for so many years ....it is a very delecate situation. It is something that I have had to work on as you said to keep it healthy and natural. That is very important to me.
I love your choice of subject and I have to say one of my favorites will always be Marilyn Monroe. She is just classic blonde to me.

Wow cindy this is definetely a very rare event. I actually have not heard of many natural blondes going this way LMAO. Oh what a waste of true blonde hair, but I am sure she still looks beautiful. I got to be careful when we go to Tokyo I have heard they like the blondes there haha.

I know I missed all the good commentary, but had to say that I love this hub.
I have gone red, brunette, even black - just to see if I would be treated differently and/or feel differently. I always love my new color at first, but end up missing the blonde and reprising it. Sure, my hair would be healthier if I didn't have style schizophrenia, but its fun to sort of be someone different for a time. It's interesting how it can be a stigma sometimes, to be blonde.
My mom always says its very lucky to have real blonde hair, but my sis - she is the lucky one. Flaming red. Totally natural - I think that's the only color that can give blonde a run for its money in the fun dept. :)

Funny about your experiment. A good friend of mine did the same thing. She defintely noticed a substantial decrease in attention when she dyed her hair brown. Another beautiful woman did the same thing and she just didn't look "right" till she went back to her platinum.

The other night I was leaning over the back of my PC with a lighter trying to see what I was doing and I accidentally set some of my hair on fire LMAO. Luckily I put it straight out, I would have been devestated...only happens to me sigh.

Hey Sixty aww thanks heaps. So you are not on Twitter. Oh it is worth signing up I think. Basically you sign up with Twitter then you can start to follow people you want and people will follow you. It does not take long at all to use it. You log on there a few times a day for 5- 10min if you like and you let people know what you are doing by writing a sentence and generally a link of a website you desire them to click on. For example if I want to bring someone here I may say "Do blondes have more fun http://hubpages.com/hub/Blondes-Have-More-Fun"
I have 1400 followers now lol I have only been on there a short time it generally has been growing 100 a day lol, yea I think it is fun and gets the traffic going.

Hi. I really truly enjoyed reading this hub. I did try it, bleaching my hair blonde for a while and I did like it. I am not sure why I went back to my natural hair color but I do like them all blonde, brunette, red. I think blonde is a nice hair color because the skin grows super pink.
I think it is unfair with the blonde jokes, and maybe it is due to jealousy. Those other women shouldn't be jealous they should reach out for that bottle of peroxide and maybe just be blonde for a little while.

ROFL QS you know once I put pink through mine and heck it would not wash out for 6 months aghhhh. Colour seems to grab to blonde hair. Lol I learnt my lesson and just dyed my fathers hair pink and orange instead (experimented lol)

This is always an interesting subject.
I recently read an article about the model Nadja Auermann. It wasn't until she bleached her dark hair that she realised her phenomic success -- just like Marilyn Monroe.
I've read a couple of Marilyn biographies, also seen many of her earliest photos, and it seems she was a natural dark blonde. According to Wikipedia she was a brunette (which I don't believe).
Personally, I find bleach blonde more attractive than natural. I even like the 'roots'. Of course, I was a great fan of Debbie Harry -- who is still a very sexy lady.
I'm quite certain blondes receive more attention than others, which is why they have more fun -- if they want it.
