Beginning With Cleopatra In 69 BC-30 BC

69 BC-30 BC - CLOTHING WAS ADORNED WITH GEMS AND JEWELS

This evolution of changing fashion starts back in January 69 BC – 30 BC, with Cleopatra,a strong, beautiful woman whose magnetic sexual appeal won many a heart of some great, successful men. She used Ancient Egyptian fashion well to her advantage employing extravagant costumes rich in golds and jewels. In this era, the pharaonic headdress was high amongst Egyptian fashions and was worn often by Cleopatra herself. It has been reportedly said that Cleopatra was indeed quite plain, unlike the sultry beauty queen portrayed in Hollywood movies, but one must take into consideration that "beauty is in the eye of the particular era" of the time.

FASHION FACTS:

. Both men and women Egyptians wore transparent, pleated robes.

. Both men and women wore wigs which they changed every-day.

.The wigs were made from human hair or wool, and on special occasions curly wigs were worn.

. Being wealthy did not mean more jewellery, instead gold was worn with more transparent clothing.

. Slaves generally were naked.

. Sheep's blood was used to colour the lips of Egyptian women.

'The Victorian Age' 1860-1900

THE AGE OF THE INVENTION OF THE SEWING MACHINE 1860

Clothing was becoming more couture design led, and synthetic dyes were now available to produce more intense colours in the fabrics. Dresses were increasingly elaborate with enormous trains on the back of skirts. Indeed the unnatural shape of these extravagant skirts matched with slim bodices, created some very unnatural lines to the female form.

FASHION FACTS

. Loops were used to lift skirts up at the back creating drapery and fullness

. Towards the late 1880's dresses became more slimline, still with the bustle that the rich adored.

. This is perhaps the era where we see the largest quantity of material in any fashion garment.

Corsets

CORSETS APPEAR AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE SIXTEENTH CENTURY 'YIKES GOES THE WAIST-LINE'.

It was said that by regularly wearing a corset it will achieve a noticeable reduction on the size of the waist. When they first appeared in the fashion world they were made from multiple layers of linen with wooden busks inserted to shape them. It shows the discomforts women have endured, and still do to this day all for the 'sake of fashion .' This certainly was an era for introducing the so called "Hourglass Figure."

FASHION FACTS

. 'Tightlacing ' is a term applied to the art of applying a corset to achieve a reduction of around 2-4 inch in the waist. The wearer must wear the corset day and night to achieve this unnatural waistline. When the reduction finally occurs, the wearer is then fitted with a smaller corset, and the cycle begins all over again.

. Corsets were not just designed for the female species of these times, indeed some men also chose to wear the tight restrictive garment.

. Ethel Granger held the 'smallest waist' record documented in the Guinness Book Of Records up until the late 1990's. Her waist measurement was a frightening 13inches.

. The main purpose of the corset was to emphasise the hips and the bust, by clinching in the waistline as small as humanly possible.

FLAPPERS DID AWAY WITH CORSETS AND PANTALOOMS AND HENCE APPEARED THE.... 'STEP IN PANTIES'.

'Flappers' was a term employed for the women in the 1920's who cut their hair in short bobs and danced away to a new jazz style music. For so long woman had been purposely emphasising the female form, and yet in this new era, the fashion trends threw all this far into the wind. The new boyish look was now the new rage.

FASHION FACTS

. The woman's body now had a up and down look with the straight up and down dresses they now attired themselves with..

. Bras were actually sold to flatten the bust line not to emphasise it.

. This was a time in history where there was an obvious move away from the showing of the female curves in favour of this new look. Twiggy, Hollywood sensation, was living proof that thinness combined with a flat chest could take you quite far in life. Millions of women copied Twiggy's appearance world-wide.

The Mini Skirt Creates A Scandal In The Mid 1960'S

MARY QUANT WITH HER EXPIREMENTATION FOR A SHORTER SKIRT EVENTUALLY RESULTS IN THE FAMOUS 'MINI-SKIRT '.

Who can forget that on 30 October 1965, the sensation Jean Shrimpton caused amongst the general public when she appeared on Derby Day, first day of Australia's Melbourne Cup carnival in a short white shift-style dress. Not to mention she was practically naked, devoid of her hat and her gloves.

FASHION FACTS

. The mini has ever since remained one of the most popular fashion icons in the entire world.

. In 1965 André Courrèges, fashion designer shifted the skirts away from body-hugging to a looser design, that give women more dignity to those who wished to wear it.

. Mini skirts seemed to lose a lot of their popularity in the mid- 1970's and was replaced by a longer skirt.

. It wasn't until the 1980's that the mini once again made it's sexy comeback.

.The mini has since then, also been adapted in a 'micro-mini ,' and almost anything goes now in today's fashion world.

The Hippy Generation began to challenge gender differences, and brought in a new freedom to express one's self in a less complicated world of fashion. Women wore little or no makeup, while many also adapted the 'No- Bra look', by throwing away their bras.

FASHION FACTS

. Native American jewelry, head scarves, headbands and long beaded necklaces became popular.

. Bright coloured clothing was increasingly popular, and so was making your own garments.

. Some popular choices of clothing included bell-bottom pants, peasant tops, full skirts, retro look garments and tie-dyed garments.

FASHION FACTS

. Dress codes were now employed in nightclubs.

. Often a lot of this shiny, iridescent clothing women were now wearing was in fact, professional dance wear.

Anna Marie Bowman 3 years ago

I have an outfit my mom gave me that she wore in the mid-70's. It's awesome!! Rust colored knee-high boots, brown jumper dress. It is one of my favorite things. I don't wear it often, though. I want to keep it. She actually wore it while she was pregnant with both my older sister, and with me!!

Tom Cornett 3 years ago

C. C. Riter 3 years ago

I like cabbage rolls stuffed with oysters from Aphrodite's gift box. I'd loveto see jj in that corset too, but not Pest. OMG then again, I'd like to see jj with no corset on too. haha

Oh, one more thang, did Cleopatra really begin in 69?hmmm intrsting

cindyvine 3 years ago

Ok, I have to confess, I did wear cabbage leaves at my granny's instigation when I first started breast feeding and my breasts were so full of milk I thought they were going to explode. Apparently, they're supposed to draw out the milk. I just ended up smelling like a vegetable patch. So, Pest admitted he used to wear a corset, or was it Cris? Have to scroll back up...

Christoph Reilly 3 years ago

Me like mine-skirts (drool). There are some excellent dresses for you up there, BP, but maybe you and I can play ancient Egyptians and you can be a slave, cause, you know, then you'd be....you know!

Very well done hub. You never cease to amaze me!

R. Blue 3 years ago

Damn fine job of drawing a non-fashion conscience reader in BP....was a really nice and entertaining read, and a bit naughty....oh how I like naughty. You omitted the celophane dress pics though.....hmmmmm. Maybe if you couldn't find any pics of that you would model one yourself and share it with us.....only for historical perspective mind you......and damn it Chris and Pest.....don't you 2 go modeling it.

Laughing Mom 3 years ago

BP, I want to know which one is your favorite......

Christoph Reilly 3 years ago

R. Blue:  I'm sure you meant Cris, and not Chris, cause homey don't play that, although I would look fabulous!

R. Blue 3 years ago

Sorry for the typo CR

Nermal 3 years ago

A wealth of information. This is a very interesting article.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey C.C ohhh you are asking a technical question here shhhh before anyone hears.(i will go look it up again) Haha.Oh you are so naughty jj will be very flattered.

Cindyvine yahoooo, this is wonderful another woman who wants, or has actually worn cabbage leaves.LMAO I can just imagine those cabbage leaves stuffed in your bra hanging out at the sides filling up with milk. That is incredible I honestly never knew that cabbage was actually used for breast milk production.See people it is possible.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey master Christoph I am with you on the mini. A very sexy item for a woman to have in her drawer. That actually is not Uma,it was me at a premiere of my movie, "Mr Pumpkins Night Out,you may not have heard of it, it was a flop at the box office.I think you made a reference on the line

'Slaves generally were ......'(beep)If I am to be your slave I refuse to wear the head-dress either or I will topple hehe

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey R.Blue thanks for coming by. Cellophane now that is a very interesting proposition. I would be honoured. You will have to mail some sheets to me preferably red as my newsagent is closed. I can then work on creating a little number.I think Pest and Cris A would look rather cute in a sheet of it as well lol. I just still am having trouble imagining Pest in his corset, oh my.

Gidday Laughing Mom,wow, that is a great question. I shall scroll up and have a look here.....you know I really like that Troy look but I really like that purple dress with the white boots, that is my choice for myself anyway.Which was your pick???

Laughing Mom 3 years ago

I just logged back in and found your reply, BP.

For you, I'd say either the hippy look dress or the Disco Professional dance wear, although I'm sure you'd look absolutely amazing in any of them.

You made me laugh when you suggested putting on the head gear and seeing how long it took before you fell over! :-)

blondepoet 3 years ago

Oh you are just beautiful laughing mom hahah, you are making me laugh now. Yes that dance-wear that is the little one that caught my eye. Haha honestly Laughing Mom by the time you put that head gear on then the dress with gold and jewels how is a woman meant to strut her stuff, she would be puffing along like a locomative train before she hits the corner hahah.

Mighty Mom 3 years ago

Great choices, BP. I did not know that the ancient Egyptians wore diaphanous clothing!

I've always wondered how did uber-curvy women adapt to the boyish styles of the flapper age and 1960s Twiggy/Jean Shrimpton minis. I'm glad today we have a blended, "anything goes" look that anyone can wear!

BTW, your "hippy" fashions -- the miniskirt, headscarf and bell bottoms outfit remind me of the curtains in my room as a teen. It's amazing I got any sleep with all that psychedelic color swirling around:-). MM

blondepoet 3 years ago

Haha Mighty Mom oh dear oops maybe I have spelled the word wrong I may have to go check that one. Oh boy, yes, curvy woman must have had an extremely hard job, with those fashions. What a waste of a good bosom trying to flatten it out in the 20's.Fashion can be just downright un-practical LMAO. Haha you had curtains like that you must have been spinning in there MM.

blondepoet 3 years ago

I can't see that word MM, if you are reading can you please tell me where it is

cindyvine 3 years ago

Have you seen some of the Japanese fashion? I went to Tokyo last November to this place called Harajuku - damn, can't remember if I've said it right, but you should have seen the fashion! OMIGOD, they have all these S and M shops there. Definitely porn movie clothes.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Oh damn Cindy I would have loved to see that. When are we going there?? Tokyo, I wll get some air-fair quotes brb.

G-Ma Johnson 3 years ago

I loved your hug, here is one back. Hugssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

May's fashion critics....

About the corset, I don't think my mom knows how to wear a corset, cuz she doesn't put something else over it!? Thank goodness she doesn't wear it in public.

Now I wonder how Cleopatra could wear something with all that weight down from them solid gold?! May be she's wearing a corset to hold her up?! I be flat as a pancake if I wear that?! (Its beautiful to show off, like for a few minutes before it wears you out)

As for the hippie chick style, the first thing that came to mind about hippie chic was the color of a nail polish by China Glaze. Strange huh? I like the style of the arm and legs flaring out. But the colors are a wee too bright. I really love the one before seeing that lovely cabbage dress. And wouldn't it be cool if someone made a dress out of banana peels or other fruit skin?

I find the mini skirts looks more adorable on little girls cuz they are not that noticable in my opinion.

As for the see through silky fashion, yeah, that'll get a lot of attentions for more fans. I see all the guys are already digging it. ;)

C. C. Riter 3 years ago

I'm diggin' it. yep, surely am woo-hoo I'm stalkin ya may

Yahoooooooooo. Not in public though I have to say.I know that is what we were saying the other day, about all that heavy gear. It's got to hurt it just has to.You know I would not be surprised if there are other fruit dresses out there.I have seen all kinds of things condom, balloon, money dresses.I think wearing your favourite food would be a novel idea except mine is seafood,I would stink to death covered in crabs or shrimps hahaha

blondepoet 3 years ago

BP, did you ever see the movie, "The Nude Bomb"? It's this absolutely stupid plot where someone makes a bomb that makes people's clothes disappear. One of their solutions is to make all of their clothes out of food and vegetation. Not that I'm recommending the movie--I did say it was pretty stupid, but funny if you're in the right mood......

C. C. Riter 3 years ago

Hey CC...we've got a blond with a brain and a bod......arector pili muscles my butt....LOL

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey there R.Blue yes I am detective BP,I have a few men under me(rank) haha.My detective skills are just a little slow in coming. Lovely to see yourself back and in action. Arector pili muscles are very real R.Blue,we cannt dismiss them you know.Take off your gear and you will see them spring forth LMAO

R. Blue 3 years ago

If I take off my gear all sorts of things might spring forth in your presence. Taking off my gear....now there you go again...gosh I love to hear this one talk....hardly ever know what she's saying...but I make up my own interpretations....just must get me an Aussie dictionary....maybe get BP to give me an oral exam.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hahaha R.Blue boy do you just crack me up. Yes I can manage the exam but you got to give me something to work with LMAO. Lovely to have your majestic presence on my page again, I will be doing one for men soon and I am going to ask you to model some stuff for my story. What you got to say to that one eh Mr R. Blue. The posty has just come so I got to throw a few things in the box so throw another shrimp on the barby, you big spunk you.

R. Blue 3 years ago

Do I get to pose in a celophane swimsuit? Oh well...I'm off for the evening...I'm sure I'll be far behind when I return...feel free to talk about me while I'm gone.

C. C. Riter 3 years ago

Looks like a younger version of me ahs joined us. haha good for you RB. haha right about the arector pili muscles my tool too! haha I spring forth everday when I'm in her presence like a hardwire spring. twoing, ying, ying woo-hoo

Pest 3 years ago

C.C. easy killer...Wasn't it great when we could spring forth ..."boing Boing' every morn? Twoing is more like a broken spring!

C. C. Riter 3 years ago

That's why I wrote it that way. haha glad yer here Pest

cindyvine 3 years ago

BP In Tokyo in the district I was telling you about, you have some strutting around like goths in S & M gear, others wearing little bo peep outfits, and others dressed like their favorite Anime characters, and then of course you have all the Elvises...Mmm, maybe I can do a hub on all that...

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey guys and girls I am so sorry I just got home. Damn you would not believe what I have done this time. Saturday I locked myself out the house, we tried to break in with a key card, grrrrrrrr, didn't work. Now I finally get a letter in the mail from Google,my first one, I have only been home 10min and I can't find it. #@####*!

Yes R.Blue the clear cellophane is in your department as I think it will suit you Blue. You have a little time up your sleeve to practise some designing haha. Pest will be modelling the male corsets, and C.C will be modelling men's G-strings.

Gidday C.C so you think R.Blue is a younger you, oh my word you are right about that hahaha. Haha your arector pili muscle is like a jack in the box boingggggg boingggggg LMAO.

What you saying there Pest. You use the term "used too" in past tense, surely it is still fully operational lol. You boys are just downright corrupting my little innocent arector pili muscles hair follicle theories hahah. You start getting the corset pics ready now.

Hey Cindy I can't wait to strut around in this weird attire.I have heard we have to take off all our diamond rings before we go there. That's kool with me as I don't have any LMAO,my biggest diamond is my heart. Shines like a candle internally.I think a hub on it would be nice so I know what I am in for. Anyway how did you end up there in the first place haha, it just clicked with me that question.

R. Blue 3 years ago

Hey....I'd be glad to be a younger version of CC if I could have half his talent. I knew I'd miss a lot.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey R.Blue they are all snoring. ZZZZZZZZZ.If C.C thinks you are a younger version of him then you must be. You are intriguing me, it is like I am talking with someone that I can't put my widdle finger on. I make a lousy detective grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Give me some clues..pleaseeeeeeeee. I beg of you.I will give you a piece of pizza that I am having for tea. What is your fav flavour? You like a bit of the ole Italian big fella' LMAO

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey Lisa HW lol, wear one of those to the supermarket and it's a guaranteed way to end up on the front page of the newspaper. Darn that thing must be so heavy, good way of knocking out one's brains LMAO.Thanks so much for your comments

Mr Nice 3 years ago

Hi blondepoet! Well, I think you don't need to wear anything. You will look gorgeous in natural dress.....hahaha.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Oh Mr Nice you are so nice LMAO. Lolololol.

AEvans 3 years ago

Could you imagine they change the wig and never washed their hair yuckkkkkkk!!! I love the clothing back then but could not imagine, no dentist, or shampoo , conditioner , deodorant etc. I would have died. :)

blondepoet 3 years ago

Oh I know how stinky they were, they also used to put mercury crap on their faces and kill themselves, just to have white skin, and crocodile excrement for mud packs.LMAO. If we were there AE we would have taught them some hygiene lol.Oh did u get the video haha

mayhmong 3 years ago

I just had to return here and check out what new fashion will come back alive. Huh what's that? Some new fashion tips? Is there something better than mercury or crocodile crap for better skin?!

SweetiePie 3 years ago

I would have loved to have paid dress up in some of the closets of past fashionestas. Very fun hub!

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hahah mayhmong let me see some new fashion tips. Well here is the newest fashion trend currently hitting the world market. I expect you will be wearing one soon. Great boost for women with small breasts

http://www.myinterestingfiles.com/2007/10/new-t-sh

Yes crocodile poop and mercury, too extreme loool, they say woman from the Victorian Age bound their face with a steak at night while sleeping, as it has very rejuvenating properties....just when you try that one haha make sure you are alone at nght. Also HAPPY EASTER TO YOU.XOXOX

Hi SweetiePie firstly I adore your new avatar. I am right with you on dressing up lol. I just adore some of those bygone fashions. Oh it would be amazing. What I like about a lot of the older eras too, is that there is not this stick thin trend which is around now, which is so unrealistic and ugly. Back in those days a woman had real curves and so it should be.Happpppy Easter SweetiePie.

lafenty 3 years ago

Great hub. Very interesting to see how fashion changed over the years. I went to highschool in the 70's and it was hip-hugging bellbottoms, mini skirts and hot pants.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey lafenty that would have been fantastic. Did you enjoy wearing those fashions? I absolutely love the clothes of the 70"s

Tom Rubenoff 3 years ago

In 1973 I wore a lavender pinstripe vest and matching bell bottom pants with a ruffled white-and-purple shirt.  I was ahead of my time by about 15 years.  I could have been the artist formerly known as Prince.

Benson Yeung 3 years ago

Hi Blondie,

thanks for dropping by to say hi. I'm OK but have been busy working on my new experiment, a cluster of medical blogs http://doctorshealthtips.com

I intend to learn from the exercise as well as create jobs.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Haha Tom I would have loved to see that chic combo on you. Indeed with all your talent you could have pushed Prince well and truly off the charts.(em..err...can you sing though that is the question LMAO)

Hi Benson wow it is great to hear from you, it has been awhile, I wish you the very best in all your new projects, I clicked on the link to have a look, wow you must be so busy these days, looks great.

The hipster, disco and mini skirt styles are right up my street!:P

Uma Thurman and gwyneth paltrow's outfits looked very tacky! Not sexy at all!!

Patty Inglish, MS 3 years ago

I really like only catsuits and spacesuits...and scuba suits. lol

blondepoet 3 years ago

Gidday compu-smart LMAO hope you decided on one for me. I agree with you on those two dresses. Showing too much especially in the way they did goes beyond sexy.

Hi Patty, oh you like scuba suits? Are you into diving yourself?

GeneriqueMedia 3 years ago

I'm into diving into Hubs. While wearing blondepoets dresses. ;)

BUMP!

earnestshub 3 years ago

Another great hub blondepoet, and lots of good information about fashion in the past. I like the freedom of dress the young ones are in to now. I am looking after my 16 year old at a home party on Saturday night, so will see the kids in their finery.

blondepoet 3 years ago

Hey earnest. Fashion is just crazy. So did you like my own dress. The very bottom pic. I thought it would fit well here lol.

Princessa 3 years ago

Great hub and wondeful dresses... which one to choose? One for every day and mood :) How boring would life be without fashion!

blondepoet 3 years ago

Oh Princessa fashion is just amazing isn't it. It certainly would be a sad sad world without it. Us girls have it much better than the guys I think, so many more choices. Thanks heaps for coming by.x0x

blondepoet 2 years ago

Thank-you so much GmaGoldie and it is a pleasure to meet you.

blake4d 2 years ago

I liked the coordination of how your photos guide you through a bit of both fashion history, and artisic changes in design techniques, use of color, bottice and decollete techniques of dressworking, and done without being too wordy or pretentious for the uninformed fashionista...

My mom spent a brief year or so studying fashion arts and history. I also worked for a dress design company for about a minute, but was actually involved in the making of one of the Miss America gowns that year, doing some computer work for the dress making machines they used. I even modeled for a few years, but mostly art school stuff...

So I am almost an informed expert on the subject.

But still BP don't you know the answer to you article title by now silly - when you don't know what dress to wear.

A hottie like you can only do one thing,

Don't wear anything at all.

Birthday suits are always in style, and

Nobody asks you for ID...smooches.

blondepoet 2 years ago

Oh wow Blake what amazing history in your family. Gee you are a very intriguing guy may I say. Oh look I am all for the Adam and Eve thing, much cooler in Summer, a little raised arector pili action going on in Winter, but yes what a way to go. Woo hoo!!!

blake4d 2 years ago

Woo hoo!!!

blondepoet 2 years ago

Haha Blake I just knew you would agree with me xox

Neil Sperling 2 years ago

As I said some time back - any dress you wear is fine with me... love to help you take it off after a long hard day. LOL

Fun to re-visit this hub my friend.

blondepoet 2 years ago

Oh Neil flattery will get you everywhere LMAO. Oh and I could certainly do with a wardrobe assistant. Lovely to see you again. :)

RunAbstract 21 months ago

I loved this! Women have really put themselves through the wringer in the name of fashion!

My grandmother was a Flapper. My mother was in the generation that saw women begin to wear pants, and slacks on a regular basis, and I was in on the bell bottoms, and granny dresses. I wonder what will be next!

blondepoet 21 months ago

Hi there Run oh yes they certainly did and still do. One minute while I go adjust my corset. Back again lol. Wow your Gran was a flapper how wonderful. Oh as to what is next, I cannot wait to see, nothing would surprise me.

blake4d 21 months ago

Personally BP I would love to see you in the Romantic Edwardian Corset, or the 60s miniskirt ensemble. Or out of either one is also an option...whatcha think?

Keep on Hubbing

Blake4d

blondepoet 21 months ago

Now Blake that conjures up a few ideas up my sleeve as I have both in my bedside drawers. Mmmm now to think where I could use the pictures.....

blondepoet 21 months ago

Sure I will hand feed you ice-cream too. Stalk away I say. We used to have a chat room link in May's hub we all got on and created havoc but I cannot remember the link. :(

@MagicBoy 19 months ago

Hey BP, a great post on the development of fashion throughout different eras..great pictures as examples.. have you done some research on them or what..wearing a corset sounds like a awful task I guess..wonder what is your fashion statement though..totally an enjoyable post..kept me smiling all the way through..Cheers..

blondepoet 19 months ago

Hi MB, so happy you came by. You know I would wear everyone of these dresses minus the cabbage leaf one, I do prefer spinach leaves, the shade becomes my complexion LMAO. I am happy to make you smile anyday.

janaya 19 months ago

shocking clothes i dont like the disco pants very daggy

blondepoet 19 months ago

Hi janaya each to their own I say. You must not forget even though disco pants may appear daggy in our times they rocked in their era.

maxi dresses 19 months ago

Nice collection.70's dress is on my hit list and i want it badly ,i love that disco look with puffy hairs like 70's singers .

blondepoet 18 months ago

zara james 16 months ago

Absolutely 70's Disco throw-back. Love it dearly

blondepoet 16 months ago

Oh zara so do I. Oh so do I lol.

Jax 15 months ago

Although I can appreciate the effort you must have put into this, I would highly recommend you stop using photos from movies and costumes available at shops - most of these are highly inaccurate. The image of Helen from the movie "Troy" is a good example of this - the costumes she wore were nothing like the clothes worn at that time, they were just to make her look like the "most beautiful woman in the world".

Also, as someone who has studied fashion history extensively through University (particularly pertaining to corsetry), I can tell you that the "Romantic Edwardian Corset" you have shown is in fact a modern princess-line corset. There were never corsets that looked like that in the Edwardian Era.

blondepoet 13 months ago

I can appreciate your view point Jax, but this is my interpretation and my style of writing. I have fun pics here as well as pictures from the actual era. My outlook on fashion is more of a fun light hearted look at clothes more than a rigid down the line approach. Thanks for stopping by. :)
